Miller-Davis Selected to Build New Elementary School in Traverse City

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Miller-Davis Company has been selected as construction manager for the demolition and re-construction of Eastern Elementary School in Traverse City, Michigan.

The elementary school is part of Traverse City Area Public Schools and, when complete, will bring new resources and innovative new ways of learning to the district and community. Demolition of the existing school is set to begin over spring break in 2017 and construction of the new school is set to begin in summer of 2017. The new school will open for students when the school year begins in fall of 2018.

“We’re excited by the opportunity to work with Traverse City Area Public Schools,” said Jack Abate, project executive for Miller-Davis Company and the Eastern Elementary School project. “We are eager to begin work and are inspired by the opportunities the new Eastern Elementary will bring to students in the area for years to come.”

The new $10 million elementary school will be designed to hold approximately 500-550 students, expanding the capacity of the former building. The architect for the project is Cornwell Architects and Diekema Hamann Architecture.
