THREE RIVERS HEALTH

Addition and Remodeling

This $4.4 million, 15,000-square-foot addition and 6,000-square-foot renovation project grew from the client’s desire for drastic change in the philosophy and quality of healthcare offered, which necessitated changes to the physical structure of their facility.

The lodge-inspired design of the entry and lobby, featuring a metal gabled roof and a stone and glass facade, creates a welcoming and serene atmosphere. This natural, cohesive approach fosters an environment supporting and encouraging healing. Interior aspects of the project include creating a central lobby and registration area, expanding dining and conference facilities, renovating the emergency department, and building a new ambulance canopy. Steel-gabled trusses support an expansive wooden ceiling with plenty of natural light, stone, and wood interior finishes. A central fireplace and water feature round out the natural elements.

“For our phased addition and remodeling project, we needed a company with proven knowledge, experience and integrity. Miller Davis was the obvious choice. They handled our project phasing, infection control and Opening Survey documentation seamlessly and we couldn’t have asked for a better working relationship. I was never worried,” said Matt Chambers, CEO of Three Rivers Health.

Completed in spring 2006, work was completed through a Construction Manager/Constructor project delivery approach and Miller Davis self-performed all general trades work. Eckert Wordell was the design professional.
