RADISSON PLAZA & HOTEL SUITES

The Radisson Plaza Hotel & Suites facility upgrade included a newly constructed Guest Tower, an entirely renovated existing Guest Tower and additions and renovations to convention, retail and restaurant spaces in an operating facility.

The new tower includes 71 guestrooms and suites with a Grand Suite occupying 1,800 square feet on two levels with a spectacular view of downtown Kalamazoo. The existing nine-story tower was completely remodeled including exterior cladding, re-glazing, new HVAC system and new finishes.

“During 2003, the Radisson was able to increase its revenue while construction was ongoing. This is unheard of in the hospitality industry,” Bill Johnston, Greenleaf Holdings.

Miller-Davis Company received a Build Michigan Award from the Michigan Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America for our creative solutions in successfully completing this project. The building was delivered through a Construction Manager/Constructor contract and Miller-Davis Company self-performed cast-in-place concrete, structural steel erection and general trades work. The design team was led by Dow Howell Gilmore Associates.
