Consumers Concrete

Consumers Concrete has expanded its production capabilities with the completion of a new 37,000-square-foot block plant, built by Miller Davis. Located directly north of Consumers’ existing Kalamazoo facility, the new plant will significantly increase production capacity and efficiency while enhancing the quality of products manufactured in a cleaner and safer environment.

The facility is the only one of its kind in the state of Michigan. It features 500 tons of indoor aggregate storage and is designed to produce concrete masonry units, segmental retaining wall units, and pavers. State-of-the-art technology enables automatic mold changes, fully automated drivelines and green lines, and robotic lifting systems, improving both production speed and worker safety.

Products manufactured at the facility will offer long-term durability, energy efficiency, and carbon sequestration benefits. The project continues a decades-long partnership between Miller Davis and Consumers Concrete, reinforcing both organizations’ dedication to strengthening Michigan’s construction industry.
