CASS COUNTY LAW AND COURTS

Cass-County-Law

The Cass County Law and Courts Building was created to address critical safety, security and convenience needs and to improve services for the general public, the Prosecutor’s office, and court staff as well as defendants, victims and witnesses in the court system. The Law and Courts Building was constructed on a 50 acre site on the north edge of the Village that was already home to other county agencies.

Completed in July 2003, the 57,000 square foot, one story facility includes Circuit, Family/Probate and District courts along with the Prosecutor’s office, Probation and Friend of the Court allowing all county functions requiring a heightened level of security to be housed in a single, barrier free building.

Miller-Davis Company completed the improvements on time and under budget at a cost of approximately $7.0 million through a Construction Manager/Advisor form of agreement. Miller-Davis also assisted the County with selecting a design firm for the project. Architectural/Engineering services were provided by The Troyer Group of Mishawaka, Indiana.
