Miller-Davis Invests in Additional Northern Michigan Office Space

Miller-Davis Company, a distinguished construction management firm with over a century of experience headquartered in Kalamazoo, Michigan, is excited to announce the expansion of its operations with the investment of additional office space in Traverse City, Michigan. This strategic move is a testament to the company’s commitment to Northern Michigan clients and growth opportunities in the Traverse City area.

“We gained a lot of recognition through Traverse City Area Public Schools’ Eastern Elementary project in 2016-2017, marking the start of our community presence,” said Jack Abate, Vice President – Construction Operations at Miller-Davis Company. “Since then, we’ve undertaken several significant projects for the district and fostered enduring relationships with contractors, designers, suppliers, and partners. Our commitment has established us as a trusted and dedicated project partner.”

The decision to establish an office in the northern lower peninsula was driven by the desire to provide more support and enhance service quality for clients in the area. Miller-Davis spent the last several years cultivating a dedicated Traverse City team comprised of skilled construction professionals who call the area home. The continued presence in the region has allowed it to develop strong relationships with clients, making this expansion a natural progression.

“Our team is passionate about investing in Traverse City’s vitality,” said Dan Coffman, Miller-Davis President. “It was an easy decision to take the next step by establishing a presence at 20Fathoms’ co-working space. We see this as an opportunity to further emphasize our intention of being a long-term supporter of the community.”

20Fathoms’ mission is to accelerate the growth of tech startups, entrepreneurs, and scalable businesses in the Grand Traverse Region. As a membership-based organization, they provide a community workspace for entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs, and other professionals to thrive. Being part of their co-working space means Miller-Davis has more opportunities to connect with Northern Michigan-based professionals, fostering collaboration and opportunities for growth.

“As a Traverse City native, I really enjoy working out of the 20Fathoms space each week,” shared Mike Farese, Project Superintendent for Miller-Davis Company. “Being there has helped me feel more connected to my community because I can regularly engage with a diverse group of business professionals that I typically wouldn’t get to interface with while on a job site.”

The new office will serve as a hub for project management and dedicated project team members who call Traverse City home. In a centralized location, the space allows Miller-Davis to host project owners, subcontractors, and others for meetings to foster improved communication, planning, and synergy. This move also allows the company to provide an elevated level of personalized service and support, enhancing its ability to deliver high-quality construction projects in the area.

Miller-Davis has a history of excellence in the Traverse City region, having delivered a range of work for the Traverse City Area Public School district; The firm is also currently overseeing a collaborative project between The Greenspire High School and Northwestern Michigan College. Miller-Davis already has Traverse City-based projects in the works for 2024 and is eager to engage additional owners.
