The new 53,000 square foot, $5.5 million vehicle Storage / maintenance facility in Lawrence, Michigan provided expansion capability, space for equipment storage, consolidation of all maintenance functions and efficient use of the current site, while allowing flexibility for changing needs. The site required a large yard space for material and equipment storage, significant circulation area for vehicles and a dedicated refueling area. The design also considered that the Road Commission is sited in a residential area.
Groundbreaking took place in summer 2006 with completion in 2007. Miller-Davis Company provided services through a Construction Manager / Constructor contract arrangement.
The designer was Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber, Inc.
