Miller-Davis served as the construction manager for Mattawan Consolidated School's new Early Elementary that opened for students in the fall of 2018. The $24.7 million, 111,000 square foot school features four independent classroom wings, one each for pre-k, kindergarten, first and second grade students. The kindergarten through second grade wings feature large common areas for collaborative learning and activities. All wings and areas of the school are connected by a long, main corridor.
Mattawan's Early Elementary is connected to the new Later Elementary via a shared cafeteria, but each school has their own separate playground for the students. The new Early Elementary also features specialized classrooms for arts, technology, music and STEAM, as well as its own gymnasium and media center. The new school has 40 classrooms with capacity for over 1,000 students.
The new Early Elementary School was part of Mattawan's 2014 $79 million bond program that also included a new Later Elementary School, as well as updates and additions at Mattawan's Middle School and High School.
